Spring on the farm is our aistear theme for the month of March in Junior Infants. We have a farm shop set up in our role-play area in the classroom. We have eggs, meat, cheese, milk, fruit and vegetables for sale.

We have explored a lot of different stations and have big plans for next week when we add a Junk Art station to our Spring/Farm theme!

Our stations:

Socio-dramatic role-play: working and shopping in the farm shop

Construction: building barns, farmhouses and shed using zoobs

Playdough: making hen eggs, carrots, baby chicks, scarecrows and vegetables

Small world: exploring the animals on a farm and their homes

Creative: using forks to paint spring flowers and making cotton wool spring lambs

Limerick City library have very kindly given us books for each aistear theme we have covered. We have a lot of books on farm animals, spring, fruit and vegetables in our classroom now. We have some non-fiction books and some very nice stories too!
