The LSP Spring Fair, run by the PTA committee, is happening this year on Friday May

4th from 8.15 am to 12pm.  Your children planted seeds in mid March and despite the unseasonably cold weather their plants have thrived and will be for sale on the day. They are labelled with your child’s name and we have tried to include a range of plants including nasturtiums, sweet peas, pumpkins, sunflowers, peas, beans, rashishes, etc. as they all have a large child-friendly seed for planting ease!

Sylvia Hogan has grown a huge variety of stunning flowering shubs, as well as herbs and fruit plants.  These will all be for sale on the day.  For anyone wanting to get organised in advance we have a list of Sylvia’s plants below.

The committee is looking for help in running the fair and if you can lend a hand it would be very much appreciated.

Donations of plants, raffle prizes, gardening or cookery books, whole cakes for the cake stall (they sell better uncut).

Raffle tickets help

This coming Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd we will need some help

selling raffle tickets in the foyer at drop-off time, from 8.30-8.50.  The raffle tickets will also be sold on the day of the fair day.

On the day

On the morning of the fair we are looking for volunteers to help run the stalls (books, cakes and tea/coffee).   We will also need volunteers to help sell the plants with the busiest time being 8.30 to 10.30.

If you can help out in any way by giving your time or donating items you can let Deirdre, Shabnam or Tamana know or email

Healthy Recipe from PTA

No Bake Apple Donuts

Serves: 12 Apple Donuts

* 3 apples, cut into ½" thick slices

* 2 c. water + juice of 1 lemon* (see notes)

Donut "Frosting":

* ½ c. peanut butter, creamy and natural

* 1 Tbsp. cocoa powder

Toppings options:

* rainbow sprinkles

* chocolate sprinkles

* cacao nibs

* mini chocolate chips

* granola

* chopped nuts or seeds

1. Cut small circles out in the middle of each apple slice.

3. Soak the apple rings into the water and lemon juice mixture for 5-10 minutes. Pat dry completely.

4. Mix together the peanut butter and cocoa powder until smooth and well combined. Slather over each slice.

5. Add the toppings of choice.

*If you plan on serving these immediately you can skip this step.  It just prevents the apples from going brown.
