SCHOOL WILL CLOSE AT 12 NOON TOMORROW, FRIDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER TO FACILITATE STAFF MEETING. SCHOOL BUSES WILL COLLECT BUS CHILDREN AT 12.15

Welcome back to you all and we hope this school year will be a great one. We welcome all our new junior infants and our new pupils who have enrolled in other classes.

Lost property has begun to mount up already. Please label your child's clothes (biro on the tags will suffice). 2 jackets from current senior infants left before summer can be gotten from Helen's office.

After school basketball will commence on Monday 6th (junior club) & Tuesday 7th (senior club) September. Cost €16 per child. Names and money to Louise tomorrow, Friday morning. This club will run until the October Bank Holiday. Congratulations to Michelle, Tony & Jordan on the arrival of Megan.

Aidan finishes on Friday 3rd to start his Educational Psychology course in U.C.D. We wish him the very best with his studies and hope he will return to the LSP when he is finished. The Board is holding interviews on Monday 6th to recruit Aidan's replacement for this school year.

Head lice: Please start the school year by checking your child's hair regularly. Head lice spreads easily and likes clean hair.

Sincere thanks to Ger our caretaker for his hard work during the summer. Our school building is sparkling thanks to his efforts.

School milk can be ordered at a cost of €21 per child. Deliveries will commence on Monday 13th September. Names and money to Louise by Friday 10th please.

Please contact Louise if you think that your child is eligible to receive bun & milk each morning.

Catholic Religious Education: Registration for the Catholic Religious Education Programme will take place next Wednesday from 6.30pm-7.30pm in the school. Please ensure you have your child registered before classes start back on the 15th September as it will cause delays on the first night back.

After School Clubs
Individual piano/violin classes
will be commencing Monday 13th September 2010 after school with qualified and experienced music teacher in the Limerick School Project N.S. Students if they wish, will prepare for Christmas concert at end of term one, and music examinations at end of term two. Term one (Sept-Dec, 13 half hour classes) €195. Term two (Jan-June, 18 half hour classes) €270. If interested in sending your child to the lessons please contact Louise, or for more information contact Eithne H

After school Arts & Crafts Classes starting in the LSP in September. Classes will consist of painting, drawing, clay work, print, collage, paper mache, puppet making, photography and lots more throughout the school year. Classes will run every Thursday after school.
Junior & Senior Infants: 1.10-2.10pm
1st - 3rd class: 2.10-3.10pm
€80 per term (includes all art materials). Please phone Tara to book your child's place.
 

After school Chess will re-start on Wednesday next 8th September. Names to Louise please €5 per child paid monthly in advance.

Reminder re Mobile Phones:
Please ensure your child has written permission to have a phone in school if you consider they need it. Phones must be turned off at all times. Emergency calls to or from home will go through Louise in the school office. Pupils who take phones to school without permission will have them confiscated.

Underage Hurling.
Venue: Ballinacurra Gaels, Rosbrien
When: Every Tuesday from 7-8pm.

In response to the devastation caused by flooding in Pakistan Doras Luimni is raising funds to send directly to those affected through non-governmental organisations (NGO's) based in Pakistan. Their Capacity Building Officer, Rabiya (mother of Zoha, Class 1) will be collecting on Monday and Tuesday morning (8.30-9am). Please support this cause by giving what you can, we understand that it is an expensive time of year for all parents so we appreciate whatever you can manage!

use chime bars & other instruments to create a

that we read

2 students from the Art College spent a
couple of hours with our class. We
decorated & designed boxes. Their
names were Heather & Ciara. They
were very nice.

We planted potatoes with the help of
Eithne (Alana's mam). We are keeping
an eye on them and watering them
regularly

In maths we studied symmetry & then
we did symmetrical pictures in art.
