Screen Plays from 'Holes' by Louis Sachar
Sixth Class 2011-2012 would like to present to you a podcast of their own original work based on the novel ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. The pupils of sixth wrote their own screenplays based on a section of the novel that appealed to them, and then in groups they brought the scripts to life and recorded them. The pupils did a superb job, in the writing, the rehearsing and the production of the screen plays. You may have to tweak the speaker levels on your pc as you listen to it – despite my best efforts on getting the class to project their voices – I did have to amplify certain sections to try and increase the volume, so at times there may be little or no uniformity of volume between one section and the next! Enjoy!

The History of Rock and Roll
- We studied the history of rock music from its beginnings in the 1950's to the year 2000. We learned how rock and society have changed together throughout the eras of rock and music. We learned that the changes that have occurred in rock music have been at a parallel path in the change to the society that listened to its music. We had great fun completing this study. In this podcast we trace the history of rock music through great narrative from class members; we have superb solo performances from almost the whole class (major respect to the Rang a Se for same!!) and also wonderful group singing. We hope you enjoy this musical/historical study!

We studied how to write rap, how to relate to the lyrics, the poetic devices that are often used in rap and poetry writing in general, we learned, listened and responded to many hip-hop pieces, we did a study of the poet Maya Angelou, and we had tremendous fun along the way. Hope you all enjoy the podcast!!

Vivaldi's Four Seasons
"The Four Seasons", created by Rang a Se
The first podcast was a learning experience for us all, Cathy was quite involved with the scripts. This time we were given the overall topic - "The Four Seasons" as we had been studying Vivaldi in class, and we brainstormed possible topics that could be included in a podcast with this title. We really enjoyed doing it, and we were responsible for the scripts. All the children in the class are speaking on this podcast (all the children in school this week). Check it out! Jenni and Mairead go head-to-head in a quiz based on the seasons - not to be missed! Gardening and cookery tips, exercise routines, a fashion report, jokes, musical reflections and much more! Enjoy!!
