Welcome to another year at LSP! We extend a particular welcome all our new junior infants and to the families who are joining our school community for the first time. We also welcome two new teachers Lorraine Cullivan who is teaching Rang 1 and Orla Moloney who is joining the SEN team. We look forward to another great year of learning together!
The building was a very busy place this summer. Important works on a new boiler, plumbing of toilets in Rang 3 and a face lift for the toilets near the halla are almost completed. So much painting and cleaning was done inside the school. A very big thank you to Ger for all of his hard work this summer to make the school look so fantastic! Also, thanks to Cathal Quinn for his support regarding the building works.
School milk can be ordered for term 1 at a cost of €15 per child. Please give your name and money to Louise in the office before Friday, 5th September.
Everyone will soon receive a record of the contact details we have for your child. Please ensure that these details are correct, sign the record and return it to your child’s teacher, even if there are no changes required.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our book rental scheme once again. A contract will be going home in the next few days. A reminder that the fee covers use of a number of class books, class novels, materials and a homework diary. We do feel it is a great way for families to save as well as support our Green School efforts. For example, we estimate that to purchase a set of sixth class school books, a copy of each of the novels, the extra materials and a homework diary would be in excess of €250 instead of the book rental fee of €45. Equally, we feel it provides a great lesson in taking good care of possessions. Sincere thanks for your support!
Names and money will be taken tomorrow Friday for afterschool basketball. Children in 1st-3rd classes attend Mondays after school from 2.10-3.10. Children in 4th-6th classes attend on Tuesday afternoons. Cost is €16 per child. This club will run until mid-term break. Names and money to Louise.
A reminder that children should be collected in the school yard in the afternoons. A reminder that the school doors are opened at 8.30 and no supervision is provided prior to this time. Please read the the attached letter regarding attendance.
