School will operate as normal, tomorrow Friday 5th September. There will be school buses in the morning, but parents will have to collect children at home time as there will be no buses running at this time.
Congratulations to Jenni Oakley who is our new Deputy Principal.
Due to the visit of the Giant Granny to Limerick we plan to bring the pupils from senior infants to 6th class as far as the Crescent/Barrington Street to see the Granny and the Lilliputians. Please fill in the permission slip that went home with your child/ren and return it to your child’s teacher tomorrow, if we do not have permission your child will not be able to leave the school.
The annual permission slips for school events and the pupil person accident insurance forms will be going home with next week’s Nuacht.
After School Clubs: Chess will resume on Wednesday, 1st October. Cost €5 per child per week. Money can be paid directly to Gabriel (coach). Redemptorist Centre of Music for percussion & music classes will be starting up again soon. Art & Craft with Tara will also be starting soon. Choir: we hope to have the choir up and running as soon as possible.
Post Office Savings Stamps Our local post office in 90, Henry Street has offered to start a savings scheme ‘Saving with Cyril’ on a weekly basis. Melissa a parent of a past pupil will call weekly, on a Thursday with the stamps and books. This is a great way to get children saving and a reminiscent of the Sammy Stamp saving scheme we had in the early days of the school. Any family wishing to avail of this service will need to open an account for the child in the post office beforehand. Documents needed will be the child’s birth cert, PPSN number and photo ID, utility bill and PPSN of parent. Any further questions will be answered in the Post Office, 90 Henry St.
PTA coffee morning for new parents will take place tomorrow morning at 8.30am outside the staff room.
