We have been learning about water resources in Kenya for the month of May in our Ethical Curriculum lessons.
We start every lesson by looking at photographs of Kenyan people and chatting about what we notice and what we think is happening. We have been learning about the Leduda family and yesterday we looked at Thomas’ chores. Thomas Leduda walks to and from the river everyday to collect water in a jerry-can. We quickly observed that he is very careful when carrying the water so he doesn’t spill any.
We played games on the yard, practising carrying various objects. We noticed that we move more quickly when we have free hands and more slowly when we carry heavy objects. We practised carrying cups of water and then spoons of water. We played in two teams.
We picked a great day to explore this lesson as it was 25 degrees outside!
