For our Different Families, Same Love topic this year we learned about the 9 grounds in the equality act and about the diversity of people and families in Ireland. We spent some time working through the Unveiling the Past resource on the struggle for LGBT+ rights in Ireland. The class then decided to create an inclusive café/restaurant, where everyone is welcome. We split up the different equality grounds to show different families at various tables in our restaurant. We also loved reading the book, “Sylvia and Marsha start a Revolution”.
