As part of our application for our next Green School Flag – Global Citizenship: The Marine
Environment’ we had to compose a new Green Schools motto. We have a history in LSP of setting
our mottos to an existing melody and composing our own lyrics to a song. The Green School
Committee chose the song ‘All Star’ by Smash Mouth. Classes Third to Sixth each composed their
own song and then shared their fabulous creations with the whole school at a fabulous assembly last
Thursday. All the songs were worthy mottos, but after the classes voted in school, both the Third
and Fifth class motto emerged as the favourites on a tied vote. We then did a mash up of both
mottos and are now very proud of our final version. Well done to all the students and teachers
involved in the process. We hope you enjoy listening to our new Green Schools Motto for Global
