First Class have been working on the theme of animals this month in our arts lessons.
We started our music lessons with the song "We're All Going to the Zoo Tomorrow" (Listen to us singing here) and have listened and responded to Camille Saint-Saëns "Carnival of the Animals" and the excerpt, "The Swan". We have learned about each of the string instruments in the orchestra and can now identify any string instrument by its sound.
In Art, we made animal homes from pinch pots. We learned about the colour brown and how it is made from the three primary colours, mixed our own individual browns and applied it to our pinch pots.
For our drama, lessons we looked at animal movements and mirrored them, we also listened to animal sounds and played funny games making those sounds. Our classroom sounded like a zoo!
