🎨 5th Class Explore Cubism and Picasso’s Blue Period
This month, 5th Class have been exploring the fascinating world of Cubism through the work of Pablo Picasso. We learned how Picasso challenged traditional ideas of art by breaking shapes into bold geometric forms and showing different viewpoints all at once — a true artistic revolution!
Our focus began with Picasso’s Blue Period, a time when his paintings reflected mood and emotion through shades of blue and green. The class discussed how colour can express feelings, and we explored what emotions might be hidden within the cool tones of this period.
Inspired by what we learned, each pupil created their own Cubist-style self-portrait.
The results were incredible — every portrait told its own story, full of creativity and personality. Through this project, 5th Class discovered that art isn’t just about what we see, but how we feel and express ourselves.
We’re so proud of their thoughtful, imaginative work — well done, artists of 5th Class! 💙
