6th Class have been exploring what lies beneath our feet — the fascinating make-up of the Earth! From the crust we walk on to the fiery inner core deep below, they’ve been busy learning all about the planet’s layers and how they work together to shape the world we live in.
To help understand how the continents fit together, the class enjoyed a hands-on tectonic plates jigsaw activity. By piecing together the world map like a puzzle, they could see how the continents once connected millions of years ago — just like pieces of a giant geological mystery!
Students also researched and created colourful posters on natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. Their displays show how these dramatic events happen when the Earth’s plates move and collide. They are also creating their own individual projects at home which we cannot wait to share! The classroom has truly been buzzing with creativity and discovery — a reminder that there’s always more to learn about the amazing planet we call home! 🌋🌎
