🧱 Building, Playing, and Learning in Sinéad’s Junior Infants! 💛
This week, Sinéad’s Junior Infants have been having a wonderful time during free play, especially with the fantastic construction toys generously provided by our PTA. The children have been busily building towers, houses, bridges, and all kinds of imaginative structures. Their creativity really shines when they have the space to explore and make together!
Construction play has also given us lovely opportunities to practise friendship skills—sharing, taking turns, working in pairs, and celebrating each other’s ideas. The classroom has been full of great conversations, problem-solving, and excited storytelling as the children explain what they are building.
In Aistear, we’ve been using these moments to build our oral language, encouraging the children to talk about their creations, describe what they’re doing, and use new vocabulary in a natural, playful way.
