You are very welcome to the Limerick School Project website. Limerick School Project is a thriving primary school community, right in the heart of Limerick City Centre. We are a modern, forward-thinking school that prioritises pupil wellbeing and achievement. We have eight mainstream classes, from Junior Infants to Sixth Class, and teach all subjects on the national curriculum, in child-centred, participatory manner.
We are an Educate Together national school, whose ethos is grounded in respect and equality for everybody. The success of our school is not simply a matter of its structure or its constitution. It rests instead on the shared commitment of management, staff, parents/guardians and children, to ensure that respect and equality underpins everything that we do. To that end, the relationships we have with each other in our school community are crucial, and we actively nurture those relationships as we collaborate in shared ventures that improve each child’s school experience.
There is a very strong ethic of care in our school. Our mission is to nurture well-informed children who grow personally and develop a sense of social responsibility over time, so that they can participate as citizens at multiple levels in society as they get older. In our school, through active exploration of the curriculum and our array of extra-curricular activities, children get structured opportunities to work independently, collaborate in groups and exercise leadership. These 21st century skills prepare our pupils very well for their lifelong journey of learning and engagement.
I hope that you will take the time to explore what we do in our school, what we value and what we aim to achieve. Please use the website as a resource to keep up to date with news and activities happening in our school.
